Operating System Release Activity - Z/OS

 The Z/OS VnRn (HNAS vrm) identifiers below typically refer to the minimum HNAS vrm
level required to support the denoted Z/OS level.

z/OS Upgrade Requirements Under HNAS - Important

Whenever a z/OS upgrade is planned & implemented in a HNAS environment the new
version of the z/OS TCPIP and VTAM macros need to be included in the HNAS product.
We also recommend that the HNAS 240 product be brought up to the current maintenance
level which is 2400114 as of this writing. There are also SMP/E & non-SMP/E HNAS
environment consideration with this process.

HNAS non-SMP/E environments:

You MUST either install the latest HNAS edistribution upgrade/refresh version or run the
HNASMNT maintenance installation job (if the HNAS product is not too back leveled)
in order to pick up the most current version of the z/OS TCPIP and VTAM macros. The
HNASMNT job is part of the original HNAS distribution for non-SMP/E environments
(see Chapter 6 Maintenance Information). Employing either one of the above processes
will make HNAS compatible with the new z/OS version.

HNAS SMP/E environments:

You MUST either install the latest HNAS edistribution upgrade/refresh version or reinstall
the current production edistribution level (if the HNAS product is not too back leveled) in
order to pick up the most current version of the z/OS TCPIP and VTAM macros.
Employing either one of the above processes will make HNAS compatible with the new
z/OS version.

Z/OS V2R3 Support

            - Z/OS V2R3 (HNAS 240) - Officially supported under HNAS
              240 release at the 2400100 plus level.

2017-10-05  - Z/OS V2R3 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently running in production at some customer sites.
              No issues encountered as of this writing

2017-06-01  - Z/OS V2R3 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is undergone preliminary review. There do not appear to
              be any change that would affect the operation of HNAS. 

              We do not anticipate any special requirements for this 
              Z/OS level under current HNAS 24001nn levels although
              preliminary compatibility testing has not been conducted
              in-house.
Z/OS V2R2 Support

            - Z/OS V2R2 (HNAS 240) - Officially supported under HNAS
              240 release at the 2400100 plus level.

2015-10-15  - Z/OS V2R2 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently running in production at some customer sites.
              No issues encountered as of this writing

2015-10-01  - Z/OS V2R2 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is undergone preliminary review. There do not appear to
              be any change that would affect the operation of HNAS. 

              We do not anticipate any special requirements for this 
              Z/OS level under current HNAS 24001nn levels although
              preliminary compatibility testing has not been conducted
              in-house.
Z/OS V2R1 Support

            - Z/OS V2R1 (HNAS 240) - Officially supported under HNAS
              240 release at the 2400100 plus level.

2015-06-01  - Z/OS V2R1 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently running in production at some customer sites.
              No issues encountered as of this writing.

2014-03-01  - Z/OS V2R1 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently undergoing testing by end users.  No issues
              encountered as of this writing.  No special PTF updates 
              currently required in the HNAS 240 code.

2014-02-13  - Z/OS V2R1 (HNAS 240) - Regarding EAV (Extended Address
              Volume or Large Volume) Support.  We are not aware of
              any problems with HNAS datasets and EAV. All HNAS 
              dataset operations are controlled via JCL. HNAS does
              not specifically use CCHHR data addressing to access 
              DASD data so having HNAS data on an extended address 
              volume should not be an issue. We do not use EAV 
              volumes in our lab z/OS V1.12 environment, however, 
              based on our reading, we do not see why EAV volumes 
              would pose a problem.

2014-01-10  - Z/OS V2R1 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS 
              release has undergone preliminary review. There do not
              appear to be any change that would affect the operation
              of HNAS.

              We don't anticipate any special requirements for this 
              Z/OS level under current HNAS 24001nn levels although
              preliminary compatibility testing has not been 
              conducted in-house.
Z/OS V1R13 Support

2012-10-01  - Z/OS V1R13 (HNAS 240) - Officially supported under HNAS
              240 release.

2012-08-24  - Z/OS V1R13 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently running in production at some customer sites.

2012-05-24  - Z/OS V1R13 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently undergoing testing by end users.  No issues
              encountered as of this writing.  No special PTF updates 
              currently required in the HNAS 240 code.

2011-07-02  - Z/OS V1R13 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS 
              release has undergone preliminary review. There do not
              appear to be any change that would affect the operation
              of HNAS.

              We don't anticipate any special requirements for this 
              Z/OS level under current HNAS 24001nn levels although
              preliminary compatibility testing has not been 
              conducted in-house.

Z/OS V1R12 Support

2011-09-27  - Z/OS V1R12 (HNAS 240) - Officially supported under HNAS
              240 release.

2011-03-17  - Z/OS V1R12 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently undergoing testing by end users.  No special
              PTF updates currently required in the HNAS 240 code.

2010-12-10  - Z/OS V1R12 (HNAS 240) - The 1.12 product was reviewed
              and there do not appear to be any change that would
              prevent HNAS from running normally. 

              Currently we are unaware if any of our customers are
              running under the 1.12 environment.  Status will be
              updated once we receive confirmation from a customer
              or business partner that they are operational under 
              the new level.

2010-10-01  - Z/OS V1R12 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS 
              release is currently undergoing preliminary review.

              We don't anticipate any special requirements for this 
              Z/OS level under current HNAS 24001nn levels although
              preliminary compatibility testing has not been conducted
              in-house.
Z/OS V1R11 Support

2010-09-05  - Z/OS V1R11 (HNAS 240) - Officially supported under HNAS
              240 release.

              Please refer to IBM PTF UK57562 APAR PM18321 regarding a
              potential problem regarding TAKESOCKET command processing
              ERNO=113 condition.

              Reminder - See reminder notice under z/OS V1R10 below.

2010-01-20  - Z/OS V1R11 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently undergoing testing.  No special PTF updates 
              currently required in the HNAS 240 code.

2009-09-01  - Z/OS V1R11 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently undergoing preliminary review.

              We don't anticipate any special requirements for this Z/OS
              level under HNAS 240 although preliminary compatibility 
              testing has not been conducted in-house as of this date.
             
Z/OS V1R10 Support

2009-01-26  - Z/OS V1R10 (HNAS 240) - Officially supported under HNAS
              240 release.  

              Reminder - you MUST either reinstall HNAS or run the HNAS
              maintenance installation job (HNASMNT) in order to pick up
              the most current version of the z/OS TCPIP and VTAM macros.
              The HNASMNT job is part of the original HNAS distribution
              (see Chapter 6 Maintenance Information for additional 
              information). Running HNASMNT under the new version of 
              z/OS will make HNAS compatible with the new z/ OS version.
              If HNAS was installed using SMP/E then a refresh PTF must
              be installed.

2008-12-24  - Z/OS V1R10 (HNAS 240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS release
              is currently undergoing production testing.  No special 
              PTF updates were required in the HNAS 240 code.
Z/OS V1R9 Support

2007-12-29  - Z/OS V1R9 (HNAS 240) - Certification completed and is now
              officially supported under HNAS 240.  No special PTF 
              updates were required in the HNAS 240 base code.

              Reminder - See reminder notice under z/OS V1R10 above.                   

              Note that IBM PMR 30328 was opened by a user to address a
              TSO RECEIVE (IEBCOPY) CLEARDIR program change in V1R9 that
              can cause a step in the HNAS install to fail with RC-8.
              Refer to HNAS Problem Log entry 2007363A for additional
              information. (2008-01-03)  

2007-11-15  - Z/OS V1R9 (HNAS 240) - Currently running production at
              customer site(s) and in test mode at another without any
              problems.  No changes required under HNAS 240 for Z/OS
              V1R9 support.  Expect official customer certification to
              be completed with-in the next 45 days.

2007-10-26  - Z/OS V1R9 (HNAS 240|230) - HNAS support for this Z/OS 
              release is currently undergoing preliminary review.
Z/OS V1R8 Support

2007-10-01  - Z/OS V1R8 (HNAS 240) - Certification completed and is now
              officially supported under HNAS 240.  No special PTF
              updates were required in the HNAS 240 base code (several
              customers have been running under Z/OS V1R8 for quite 
              some time without any reported incidents).

              We apologize for the late posting of this status.

2006-12-20  - Z/OS V1R8 (HNAS 230) - Currently running production at
              customer site(s) and in test mode at others without any
              problems.  No changes required under HNAS 230 (or above)
              for Z/OS V1R8 support.  Expect the official customer 
              certification to be completed with-in the next 45 days.

2006-11-14  - We don't anticipate any special requirements for this 
              Z/OS level under HNAS 230|240 although preliminary 
              compatibility testing has not been conducted in-house.

2006-07-26  - Z/OS V1R8 (HNAS 230|240) - HNAS support for this Z/OS 
              release is currently undergoing preliminary review.
Z/OS V1R7 Support

2006-03-22  - Z/OS V1R7 (HNAS 230) - Certification completed and is now
              officially supported under HNAS 230.  No special updates 
              were required in the HNAS 230 base code (customers have
              been running under Z/OS V1R7 for quite some time without
              any reported incidents).

2006-01-18  - Z/OS V1R7 (HNAS 230) - Currently undergoing testing on a
              customers test system for the several weeks without any
              problems.

2006-01-03  - Z/OS V1R7 (HNAS 230) - HNAS support for this z/OS release
              is currently undergoing preliminary review.
Z/OS V1R6 Support

2005-08-10  - Z/OS V1R6 (HNAS 230) - Certification completed and is now
              officially supported under HNAS 230.  No special updates 
              were required in the HNAS 230 base code.


2005-07-08  - Z/OS V1R6 (HNAS 230) - Currently running in production at
              customer site(s). No changes required under HNAS 230 for 
              Z/OS V1R6 support.  Expect official customer certification
              to be completed with-in the next 60 days.

2005-03-18  - Z/OS V1R6 (HNAS 230) - Currently undergoing testing at some
              customer sites.

2004-10-22  - Z/OS V1R6 (HNAS 230) - HNAS support for this z/OS release is 
              currently undergoing preliminary compatibility/certification
              review.  We don't anticipate any special requirements for 
              this Z/OS level under HNAS 230.
Z/OS V1R4 Support

2003-04-28  - Z/OS V1R4 (HNAS 220) - Certification completed and is now
              officially supported under HNAS 220.  No special updates 
              were required in the HNAS 220 base code.

2003-04-14  - Z/OS V1R4 (HNAS 220) - Certification currently in progress.

2003-03-26 - Z/OS V1R4 (HNAS 220) - HNAS support for this z/OS release is 
              currently undergoing preliminary compatibility/certification
              review.  We expect certification of this z/OS release to be 
              completed by the end of April 2003.
Z/OS V1R2 Support

2002-05-24  - Z/OS V1R2 (HNAS 210) - Officially supported.

2002-05-01  - Z/OS V1R2 (HNAS 114) - Due to the complexity of the logic 
              changes necessary for Z/OS V2R1 support will not be made 
              available under HNAS V1R1M4.  Customer requiring this 
              support will need to upgrade to the more robust HNAS V2R1M0
              product.
OS/390 Support

            - OS/390 V2R5 and earlier releases run under the IUCV interface
              and requires a special HNAS distribution.

            - OS/390 V2R8 and later run under the MAPI interface.
Z/OS.e Support

2005-01-19  - Z/OS.e - Product is currently under investigation. (IBM 
              documentation indicates that Z/OS.e supports VTAM and
              TCP/IP but doesn't support: X25 NPSI, ACF/NCP or ACF/SSP
              and was developed specifically for web applications).

Host NAS (HNAS) Release Activity

Important -
Comm-Pro is no longer developing any new HNAS product Releases or Enhancements.
HNAS PTF or APAR Maintenance or work-arounds will continue to be provided until
December 31, 2017, as required. Please refer to the Host NAS Products End-Of-Life
 Information section (below) for additional information.

Host NAS Minimum Maintenance Level Requirement

2017-01-01  - Host NAS Minimum Maintenance Level Requirement - 
              Effective July 1, 2017 HNAS Software edistribution levels 
              below APAR 2400096 will no longer receive our standard 
              priority support. We highly recommend that you upgrade to
              our current 2400114 (or newer) maintenance level at your
              earliest convenience.
              
              Annual Use Fees will still apply although we will not be 
              able to provide more than basic support for problem or 
              incident debugging until the maintenance level is brought
              up-to-date. We recommend that all HNAS customers upgrade 
              to the current 2400114 (or newer) maintenance level before
              a potential problem incident is encountered that we will 
              not be able to help resolve without first upgrading the 
              HNAS level.

              Please be aware that the cut-off date provided in the 
              HNAS Support Notice may be extended to handle special 
              circumstances as deemed appropriate by Comm-Pro after a
              discussion with the respective customer. 
HNAS V2R4M0 - Release Status
2016-02-21  - HNAS 240 continues to be our primary HNAS release.

              Product enhancements and new features are added via
              standard 2400nnn updates or 240 product refreshes.
2012-02-20  - While no new HNAS releases under TCP/IP V4 are currently 
              scheduled, 240 continues to be our primary release.
  
              This release continues to receive maintenance updates;
              fixes, enhancements and improvements.  

              There currently is no end-of-support or end-of-service
              date scheduled for this release.  Should an eventual 
              date be scheduled a minimum 12 month notice will be
              given.       

              HNAS 250 (TCP/IP V6) is currently under consideration.

2011-06-02  - HNAS 240 continues to be our primary HNAS release.

              Product enhancements and new features are added via
              standard 2400nnn updates or 240 product refreshes.

2006-07-31  - HNAS 240 General Availability - Official Release date

2005-07-05  - General Availability release delayed for 1-2 weeks so 
              that HNAS BUILD PRTSWLST= and TIMESTAMP= enhancements
              and the Console DLU/DVC SESSINIT VC call status display.
              Please refer the 240 Changes and New Features section 
              for addition information. 

2005-06-01  - The HNAS 240 product is now under Early Ship (eshp) mode,
              Beta testing completed.

2006-05-16  - HNAS 240 General Availability tentatively scheduled for
              July 1, 2006.

2005-11-21  - The HNAS 240 product is under the final stages of Alpha
              testing.  Documentation development and Beta testing 
              will begin in December 2005.

              The implementation of this release is initially being
              provided for Datafono (ISARX25) users although all other
              users will be able to upgrade to this product soon after.

              This product will replace the special customer 230.c
              distribution and ultimately 230 (later in the year).

              We suggest that you refer to the V2R4M0 Features list 
              (when available) for a description of the enhancements.

              General Availability for Datafono users expected in the
              1st Qtr 2006 While General Availability for all other
              users is expected in the 2nd QTR 2006.
HNAS V2R3M0 - Release Status
2007-04-01  - HNAS 230 End-of-Maintenance, standard APAR maintenance in
              no longer issued for this release.  HNAS 230 (or earlier)
              users should upgrade to 240 at their earliest convenience.

2006-12-27  - HNAS 230 The End-of-Maintenance date for this release is
              scheduled for April 1, 2007.  We recommend that users 
              upgrade to the 240 release at their earliest convenience.

2004-03-22  - HNAS 230 General Availability - Official Release date.


2004-03-05  - HNAS 230 General Availability deferred to 03-22-2004, 
              Pending completion of QLLC Callout documentation.

2004-03-04  - HNAS 230 Base product established, Service Notice,
              Begin_Maintenance/APAR_Cycle.

2004-02-15  - HNAS 230 product release delayed due to inclusion of QLLC
              Callout enhancements and additional Console commands. SMP/E
              distribution revised after Beta testing was completed.               

2004-01-20  - HNAS 230 SMP/E beta distribution installation testing underway.
               
2003-11-12  - HNAS 230 product release delayed due to inclusion of SMP/E
              support and other New Features requested by Customers and 
              Business Partners.  

              Although Beta testing is underway the official release may
              not be released for General Availability until January 2004.

2003-08-01  - Optional HNAS product SMP/E edistribution development is now
              underway.  This support is slated to be available in the 4th
              Qtr 2003.

2003-05-27  - The HNAS 230 product is under the final stages of development
              and Alpha testing.  Documentation and Beta testing will begin
              in early June 2003.  The HNAS V2R2M1 product implementation is
              being replaced by V2R3M0 because this release is more than a
              modification level maintenance update.  

              We suggest that you refer to the following V2R3M0 Features
              list (when available) for a description of the enhancements.

2004-06-01  - We no longer issue standard maintenance for this interim release.
              HNAS 211 users should upgrade to release 220 or above at their 
              earliest convenience.
HNAS V2R1M1 Maintenance Release Replaces V2R1M0
2002-07-01  - The HNAS 211 product maintenance release and documentation 
              replaces support for HNAS 210.  We suggest that you refresh or 
              upgrade to this newer release for continued maintenance support.

              HNAS 114 users should also consider upgrading to release 211 
              which contains several new features and improvements over 
              their existing HNAS product support.
HNAS V2R1M0 - End of Maintenance Service Notice
2002-07-10  - We no longer issue standard maintenance for this interim release.
              HNAS 210 users should upgrade to release 211 at their earliest
              convenience.
HNAS V1R1M4 - End of Maintenance Service Notice
2002-11-12  - We no longer issue standard maintenance for this release. HNAS 
              114 users should consider upgrading to release 211 or 220.
              
              Comm-Pro will make every effort to provide emergency support for 
              this distribution level although you may be required to upgrade
              to a newer level to resolve problems addressed by APARs (PTF) in
              newer releases.

FTP Server Activity - Services and Availability


Notice: (2018-12-01) HNAS FTP Server comm-pro4ftp.com Access:  

The Comm-Pro HNAS FTP Server may no longer be available after January 21, 2019.
We are retiring the service so IP Address 198.2.59.11 will no longer be available 
for our FTP Server access. The ftp.comm-pro4ftp.com link will also be retired
although it may operate for a few months redirecting to a temporary service.

An alternate temporary FTP service may be available for special requests during 
the first Quarter of 2019. Please contact support@comm-pro.com for additional 
information.
 
Notice: (2013-06-01) HNAS FTP Server comm-pro4ftp.com Access:  

We completed the FTP Server maintenance tasks and migrated to a new ISP. The new
IP address is 198.2.59.11 although you can continue using ftp.comm-pro4ftp.com
to access the server.

Notice: (2013-05-05) HNAS FTP Server comm-pro4ftp.com Access:  

We are in the process of performing various maintenance tasks as well as 
preparing for the eventual IP address reassignment of comm-pro4ftp.com support 
FTP server.

There will be times when the server is offline or unavailable over the next few 
days. If you are unable to access the FTP server using the ftp.comm-pro4ftp.com 
domain name (66.123.107.241) please send support@comm-pro.com an email with your
file transfer requirements. If you need to send a large file then we will make 
arrangements to accommodate the file transfer at an agreed upon time. Our email 
server has no problem receiving >5M email attachments.

If you are requesting a product refresh or upgrade we can provide the single 
*.zip as an attachment file.

Once the maintenance is completed a notice will be published. These changes do
not affect our www.comm-pro.com web site.

Other Miscellaneous Activity


Daylight Saving Time
2007-01-03 -
There will be no impact on your HNAS|NAS system when Daylight
Savings time is toggled.
              
HNAS timers utilize a special one-second system utility timer 
that is independent from the time-of-day clock.  Changes to the
time-of-day clock do not affect processing of the HNAS system
utility timer process.

NAS9206S Alert Messages
Notice: (2015-06-01) HNAS NAS9206S Alert Messages
HNAS user encountering NAS9206S alert messages should contact
their support representative or Comm-Pro immediately to request a
temporary or annual HNAS Key (EOMKEY). These keys are associated 
with the EOMDATE=yyyy/mm/dd in use at your specific site and must 
be updated annually to avoid a service interruption (forced 
termination of HNAS). 

Revised Annual keys are provided once the annual maintenance/use 
renewal process is completed. This generally occurs once annual 
renewal fees are received by Comm-Pro. The keys may also be 
released upon reception of signed Purchase Orders or Contract 
renewal terms, as required. 

Annual prepaid fees are required for Maintenance/Use of the HNAS 
products. Renewal keys are also available for period less than 1 
year. Please contact your HNAS support services for additional
information. 

- Temporary keys are provided in emergency situations when there 
is confusion over the annual renewal process or in cases where 
there are delays in the ordering processing for the renewal.

HNAS EOMKEY Installation Instructions
SMP/E edistribution Support
Notice: (2017-01-01) HNAS SMP/E edistribution Support Change
2017-01-01 -
While we currently continue to provide HNAS SMP/E edistributions 
for our HNAS products we no longer provide installation support
services for this method of product installation.

We continue to provide this service as a courtesy to our customers
for required z/OS upgrades and HNAS maintenance upgrades including
accumulated APAR enhancements and fixes.
                
Should a problem occur in the HNAS SMP/E installation process only
very limited support will be provided by Comm-Pro, If we are unable
to help resolve the installation problem we will require that the
customer install HNAS via our Standard non-SMP/E edistribution.
		
Please note that our HNAS customer base has 3-4 remaining SMP/E	
edistribution customers, 3 of these customers are in the process
of migrating to a Non-SMP/E edistribution environment. CSP is
the 4th remaining customer. All other HNAS customers are running 
under our Non-SMP/E edistributions.

Notice: (2014-01-01) HNAS SMP/E edistribution Maintenance changes

2014-01-01 - 

While we continue to provide SMP/E edistributions we no longer
provide Replacement PTF packaging for HNAS.

Due to internal Comm-Pro organization and product packaging 
changes we are no longer providing SMP/E Replacement PTF 
edistributions.

We can still generate and distribute HNAS SMP/E edistributions
at the latest HNAS maintenance level although we no longer 
provide Replacement PTF’s for product APARs, Refreshes or 
Upgrades. Should an up-to-date HNAS level be required under 
SMP/E we will send a complete new install rather than a 
replacement PTF. 

Many customers are now running under non-SMP/E edistributions 
because this environment allows for Z/OS upgrades by running
the special HNASMNT job (built during the edistribution 
generation process) instead of having to reinstall the HNAS 
product under the new Z/OS level.


	
Host NAS (HNAS) Products End-Of-Life Information & Notices
December 31, 2018 is the official Comm-Pro HNAS End-Of-Life date.
Effective January 1, 2019 Comm-Pro will no longer be providing any
HNAS Product Services, Maintenance or Support. Email End-Of-Life

We have provided some Options below for customers that wish to 
continue operating HNAS without and Comm-Pro services.

Dear HNAS Customers and HNAS Providers,

Comm-Pro is now accepting orders from customers that need to or 
prefer to continue operating HNAS Products beyond the Comm-Pro 
HNAS EOL December 31, 2018 date.

The following Terms and Conditions must be met before HNAS_EU 
customer orders will be processed.

1: Customers must be in good standing with an active HNAS 
cid_9nnnn license ID (must be provided in order request).

2: Customers EOMDATE=2018/12/31 must already be activated 
or in use via our standard yearly or n-month renewal period 
process.

3: Customers DNAS Display output report needs to be provided
to Comm-Pro for all HNAS Images in use with-in 30 days of 
responding to this email notice.

4: Previously executed HNAS Software, Maintenance, Use or 
Master Agreements provided by Comm-Pro, Customer, Provider 
or other Entity are null and void effective December 31, 2018 
and will no longer be valid as of January 1, 2019.  None of 
these agreements are valid under HNAS-EU.  The Comm-Pro HNAS 
License ID cannot be operated beyond December 31, 2018 without
a HNAS-EU Invoice payment.        

5: Customer must also accept the HNAS Extended Use Operational 
Requirements (below).

6: Customer needs to decide the period of use for their HNAS-EU 
order. Sample pricing was provided to all of our customer with 
pricing for various terms 1, 3, 5 years as well no time limit 
for customers ordering HNAS-EU under a 5-year term along with 
the Source option.

7: The order process must be completed, and payment received 
no later than November 30, 2018. This will ensure that customer 
has a minimum of 15 days to validate their Special HNAS-EU key 
before Comm-Pro December 31, 2018 EOL.  We recommend that 
customer complete this process a minimum of 90 days before EOL.

8: The special HNAS-EU Key to extend HNAS operation for the 
period ordered will not be provided until the payment is 
received and processed. 

9: No Standard or Special HNAS-EU Keys will be provided after 
December 15, 2018 if payment has not been received and posted
as cleared by our bank.

[_] – Customer operating under License ID cid_9nnnn accepts 
the above Terms and Conditions. Locate an X in the provided 
box if you accept these Terms and Conditions (required for 
order fulfillment.  

It is important that you contact us as early as possible so 
that we can ensure that your HNAS-EU request order is 
processed in a timely manner so that we can provide you with
HNAS-EU under your existing HNAS License Software level for 
the appropriate period of coverage.    

Your HNAS-EU Price Quote request must include the following 
information:

1: HNAS License ID (cid_9nnnn),
2: Period of coverage you require, 1, 3, 5 years
3: With or without the source option 
   Source option requires 5-year pricing fee for 
   unlimited period.
4: Any special requests for our review.
5: Primary customer contact names and email address 
   (Manager, Support, Billing).
6: Physical address where HNAS images are currently 
   operating.
7: HNAS-EU must be included in the subject and 
   description of order.  

HNAS Extended Use Operational Requirements

Customers and Providers must agree to the following 
Limitations, Restrictions and Rules regarding operation 
under HNAS-EU.

1: No Support, Maintenance or Services will be provided by 
Comm-Pro after December 31, 2018 or under HNAS-EU beginning 
January 1, 2019.  

2: No new or existing HNAS Product Software, Support or 
Maintenance Agreements will be accepted or supported 
effective January 1, 2019.

3. Customer is not permitted to sell or transfer the 
HNAS-EU HNAS Products to another company or entity, 
software is for exclusive use only by the licensed customer.

4. The HNAS software will stop operating once the EOMDATE=
yyyy/mm/dd occurs (the EOM date is set based upon your 
order).  No HNAS Keys will be available to extend the 
HNAS-EU operation. The only exception is for customers 
operating under HNAS-EU Source Option whereby they can 
extend their specific License ID Key beyond their 5-year 
period.

Dear HNAS Customers and Associates, 

As you know Comm-Pro will no longer provide any HNAS Services 
(Support, Maintenance, Keys, Renewals, etc) after December 31, 2018.

We have been in discussion with our European Business Partner (EBP) 
concerning their potential role in providing continued support for
HNAS in 2019 and beyond. This discussion began last year when we 
announced the Comm-Pro HNAS EOL (End-of-Life) date.   

Upon careful analysis of their HNAS customer base and the remaining
potential Comm-Pro Direct customer base (not currently under their
control) they feel they are not in a position to offer support to 
more customers because they too are now in the process of with-
drawing from HNAS Support & Services once their specific customer 
contract terms expire. This withdrawal was a very recent decision 
on their part. 

Based upon their decision there will be no HNAS Support Services 
after December 31, 2018. There are no other providers available 
that are capable of providing support for the HNAS product line.

Several customers plan to continue operating HNAS beyond 2018 
under HNAS Extended Use without any Comm-Pro or EBP Support or 
Services. Our understanding concerning these customers is that 
some are in the process of migrating their customer base to a 
new network and application platform but have not completed the 
process.  Others may have a subset of customer that require 
services that are available under the HNAS network or 
application environments with eventual plans to migrate, 
evolve or stop using their existing provider.  

Comm-Pro is fortunate that HNAS is a very stable product line 
and several customers are comfortable continuing to operate the 
product for some time without support or services.

Some of our Direct HNAS customers were very interested or 
required HNAS Alternate Provider Support (Option 3, Step 2.2) 
and we are sorry that we were unable to provide a replacement 
HNAS Support provider for your organization.  It is important 
that these customers contact us in a timely manner to discuss 
your continued interest in HNAS Extended – No Support.

Dear HNAS Customers and HNAS Providers, 

We are in the process of preparing for Comm-Pro EOL activities 
and want to provide a clear path for our customers.

1: If you have already stopped operating HNAS or plan to cancel
HNAS at the end of your existing EOMDATE please contact Comm-Pro
or your HNAS provider reporting your cancellation status.

2: For customers with EOMDATE’s prior to December 31, 2018 that
want to continue operating HNAS through the end of 2018 we 
suggest that you contact Comm-Pro or your provider and request 
a Price Quote for the period between your existing EOMDATE and 
December 31, 2018.  Payment for this final standard annual 
renewal period (nn Months) must be received by Comm-Pro with-in 
30 days of your current EOMDATE.

  Sample: If your current EOMDATE=2018/06/30 and you plan to 
  renew HNAS through 2018/12/31 it is important that we receive 
  a renewal order for ‘6 months’ a minimum of 30-45 days before 
  your EOMDATE expires so that there is enough time for order 
  fulfillment (price quote, purchase order, invoice delivery 
  and payment processing).  HNAS renewal Keys will be provided 
  after the payment is received.

3: For customers with EOMDATE=2018/12/31 that are interested
in one of the HNAS Extended Use Options, we suggest that you 
contact Comm-Pro or your provider to begin preparing for 
this process.  It is important that we receive a price quote
request in a timely manner so that the order process and 
payment process is completed 30 days before December 31, 
2018. Special HNAS Extended Use Keys won’t be distributed 
until payment processing is completed.  No HNAS Keys will be 
provided after December 31, 2018.

Pricing for HNAS Extended use is based upon the number of 
months or years that you plan to continue operating HNAS 
beyond the Comm-Pro EOL December 31, 2018 end date.  So it
is important that you select the period that will cover 
your planned use.  Pricing is based upon planned length of 
use and is currently broken down into the following 
brackets:

Product pricing will be provided in our HNAS Extended Use 
Price Quotes in 1 Year, 3 Year, 5, Year and Unlimited Use 
brackets.    

If you are interested in purchasing the HNAS Source, please
let us know and additional information will be provided.

4: As advised previously in HNAS EOL Notices under Option,
3, our Primary Business Partner is considering providing 
HNAS Support beyond 2018. We will provide additional 
information as it become available.

Some time has passed since we sent out our initial 
HNAS EOL Notice in December 2017.  

This reminder notice concerns Comm-Pro announcement
regarding the upcoming end-of-life for Comm-Pro's 
offering of the HNAS Product Line, effective December
31, 2018.  We will no longer be offering HNAS products
to new users and we will no longer be providing 
Development, Maintenance, Support or General Services
for existing Licensed User's. Comm-Pro is shutting 
down their HNAS group and will no longer be involved
with this product after the December 31, 2018 
end-of-life date). 

Important: We would like to know what your plans
are concerning continued operation of HNAS beyond 
your existing EOMDATE.  We hope to hear from you 
ASAP so that we have plenty of time to assist you 
with your potential upcoming renewal or future 
HNAS plans.       

If you plan to cancel HNAS on or before your existing 
EOMDATE, please advise as such and we will no longer 
send you HNAS EOL Option Information.      

Customers with EOMDATE’s prior to December 31, 2018
have the ability to request a special renewal period
less than their existing Annual Renewal Period 
(between their current EOMDATE and December 31, 2018).
This renewal method ensures that customer will 
continue to receive Maintenance and Support for
their HNAS products up to their new renewal period 
(but not beyond December 31, 2018). It is extremely 
important that we receive these standard renewal 
requests a minimum of 45 days before the current 
EOMDATE. If additional use is required, customers 
should also consider one of the Extended HNAS Use 
options below via a separate 
request.
      
Customers with December 31, 2018 EOMDATE’s need to 
contact Comm-Pro a minimum of 90 days prior to 
expiration of their EOMDATE.  This will ensure that 
there is enough time to for Comm-Pro to provide 
customers with an Extended HNAS Use option. 

Should customers need more time to migrate from HNAS
to another solution or want to continue operating 
HNAS beyond December 31, 2018 deadline there are some
options available. We propose that we can extend the 
HNAS License_ID Use Key providing permission for 
customers to continue operating or running HNAS on 
their own without any Comm-Pro provided services 
until your migration is complete. We can also provide
you with the HNAS source code (all libraries) so you 
could support HNAS yourselves. Modest fees apply. We 
want to be as flexible as we can with all of our 
customers during your transition away or continued 
Use of the HNAS product without Comm-Pro Support, 
Maintenance and General Services.

Extended HNAS Use without Comm-Pro Support or Maintenance
 
Comm-Pro will no longer be providing any Development, 
Support, Maintenance or Services for the HNAS product 
line after December 31, 2018.  Customers with EOMDATE’s 
prior to this date can renew their Annual (Use, Support 
and Maintenance) for the period between their current

source will be charged a one-time fee (to-be-
determined) and permitted to continue operating HNAS
for as long as they require the product. The product
is for exclusive use of existing licensed customer 
and is not available for transfer or resale.

Option 3 – One of our Business Partners is considering 
providing General Services and Support for HNAS once
Comm-Pro direct services are no longer available. We 
plan to provide additional information concerning 
this potential option as it becomes available.

Dear HNAS Customers and HNAS Provider, this notice concerns All 
HNAS Users:

It is with great difficulty that we announce the end of life for 
Comm-Pro's offering of the HNAS Product Line Effective December 31, 
2018. We will no longer be offering HNAS products to new users and 
we will no longer be providing Development, Maintenance, Support or 
General Services for existing Licensed User's. Comm-Pro is shutting
down their HNAS group and will no longer be involved with this 
product after the December 31, 2018 end-of-life date.

We are announcing this decision now in order to give our customers 
sufficient time to prepare for this change and to transition away 
from HNAS to an alternative solution or continue operating HNAS 
without Comm-Pro Services (Maintenance, Support, Correspondence, 
etc). See section below concerning Extended HNAS Use without 
Comm-Pro Support or Maintenance).

This was not an easy decision for us. We have been providing network 
solutions for IBM users for over 4 decades but the time has come for
our own transition. We very much appreciate the friendships we have 
forged with our customers over the years as well as your loyalty and 
support.

We recognize that HNAS has been integral or necessary part of your 
network for customized and standard legacy NPSI applications. Should 
customers like to have more time to migrate from HNAS to another 
solution, we propose that we can extend the HNAS License_ID Use Key
providing permission for customers to continue operating or running 
HNAS on their own without any Comm-Pro provided services until your 
migration is complete. We can also provide you with the HNAS source 
code (all libraries) so you could support HNAS yourselves. Modest
